First Descents has no shortage of incredible alums. One of them, Eric Anthony Galvez, has transformed his own experience into a new lease on life.
Eric trained to be a physical therapist, and then, in an ironic twist of fate, found himself in the position of those he’d intended to help: he was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and went through a grueling regimen of surgery, radiation, and ultimately rehabilitation.
Eric’s journey has led him to write a book and start a non-profit organization. In between, he somehow found time to come to a First Decents camp, for which we are incredibly thankful. He’s one of our many remarkable alum who has transformed the adversity of his own experience into something positive and vital, and he inspires us all to keep doing what we do.
