Reid was raised exploring the Appalachian mountains of north Georgia. After earning a master’s degree from the University of Kent in Canterbury, UK, he moved to Denver and started working in nonprofit fundraising. He comes to First Descents with experience in advocating for mental health legislation and organizing events to benefit Colorado’s underserved communities.

An avid backpacker, Reid loves getting outdoors and has enjoyed long-distance hikes from Scotland to Hawaii and, of course, Colorado.
