Genevieve Hovde is a Partner at BDT & MSD Partners and serves on the firm’s Investment Committee and Advisory Committee. BDT & MSD Partners is a merchant bank with an advisory and investment platform built to serve the distinct needs of business owners and strategic, long-term investors. Genevieve has spent the past 18+ years in the financial services industry, the bulk of which has been focused on advising and investing alongside her BDT & MSD clients. Prior to her current role, Genevieve worked in the Financial Institutions Group of J.P. Morgan’s Investment Banking Coverage division.

In her free time, Genevieve is an avid outdoor enthusiast, finding joy and mental/physical wellbeing in an active lifestyle, which includes hiking, cycling, running, skiing and yoga, among other activities. She was first introduced to First Descents in fall 2021 via FD staff and attended her first ball the next spring.  With a family history of both cancer and MS, and a strong belief in patient empowerment through access to outdoor adventures, FD’s mission resonated with Genevieve, and she’s been a dedicated supporter ever since.
