Eating the right kinds of foods during and after cancer treatment can help you feel better, stay stronger
and lower risk for recurrence.

First Descents is dedicated and passionate about providing healthy meals and nutrition education at our programs. We believe in the healing properties of food and the benefits that can be gained from sharing amazing meals.

In 2012 we were fortunate to partner with The Palette Fund, an organization that is committed to the education of healthy eating, with specific emphasis and knowledge
on the approach of food for cancer patients.

With their generosity, and the help of some other fantastic chefs, we have been able to acknowledge and implement healthy and delicious menus at our programs. First Descents is dedicated to continuing program nutrition in 2015 and beyond as we grow to include health supportive chefs at every program.

Our chefs are passionate about the healing power of good food and eager to share their love of cooking and nutrition.  We go the extra mile to source as much local and organic goods as possible. Menus emphasize a fresh whole food approach to eating. Most importantly meals taste great and inspire healthy living.
