Monica is a proud cancer thriver, an outdoor enthusiast, and a firm believer in the power of intentionality and living each day to its fullest. As a fifth-generation Colorado native, Monica is a self-acclaimed “mountain girl” and is happiest and most alive when spending time in the alpine air.  Monica has been active her entire life as a competitive gymnast (younger self!), yoga enthusiast, skier, mountain biker and climber, and just sitting in meadows admiring the trees. She believes that being active in the outdoors, surrounded by a loving, supportive community, is what helped her navigate cancer and reclaim health in every aspect of her life.

Monica recognized during her own cancer journey that the opportunity to heal through active movement in the great outdoors was a gift — a gift she wanted to pay forward to other young adults navigating cancer and critical health journeys. Monica is currently a Managing Director with BDT & MSD Partners, a merchant bank with an advisory and investment platform built to serve the distinct needs of business owners and strategic long-term investors, where she leads the nine-state Mountain West/Pacific Northwest Regions. She has nearly 30 years of experience as a Private Equity/Investment Banking Executive, Chief Executive Officer and Board Director, with expertise in leading and growing high-profile financial services organizations.
