First Descents is a beneficiary of Tap Cancer Out – a nonprofit that raises funds and awareness for cancer fighting organizations on behalf of the Jiu-Jitsu aka “grappling” community. Outdoor athletes like surfers and climbers have been cross-training in the sport of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for decades and we’re stoked to see this sport mobilize and support those coping with cancer!
On December 11, 2021 Tap Cancer Out is hosting a worldwide Global Grappling Day for the second year in a row! At this virtual global event, grapplers will slap, bump, and roll for one hour straight in honor of those who can’t stop fighting after just one hour, one day, or even one year.
