Adventure is calling! First Descents’ 2026 Core Program Registration opens on Monday, February 2, at 11 AM MST.

All programs are FREE and include lodging in a spectacular location, plus gear, pro-guided instruction, chef-prepared meals, and time to kick back with fellow members of our incredible FD community.

Join local FD Community member Fernando (“Force”) and our friends over at Stupid Cancer for a fun Los Angeles hiking adventure at Crystal Cove State Park!

Saturday, June 28 | 11 AM

Important Details

  • Location: Crystal Cove State Park. Meet in front of the Visitor Center: 8471 N Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651
  • Activity: Hiking the 5 mile El Moro Canyon Loop Trail (AllTrails). It should take us about 3 hours.
  • Cost: $5 per hour Parking fee; $15 daily max
  • What to bring: Sun protection, sturdy hiking shoes (good traction and ankle support!), water and snacks. 

Whether it’s your first time joining or you’ve been to a bunch of FD meetups – it’ll be a fun day hanging out with local FD community members in the area. Feel free to invite along friends/family (18+), as anyone is welcome to attend Community Adventures!
