2026 Leadville Trail 100 MTB

Aug 15, 2026
Leadville, CO

This will be the 19th year that First Descents has fielded a team for the infamous Leadville Trail 100 MTB mountain bike race in Leadville, Colo. The course is 104 miles long, with over 12,000 feet of elevation gain at altitudes up to 12,600 feet!

In 2006, First Descents’ Executive Director Allan Goldberg suffered a cancer recurrence after 26 years of remission. Allan needed a challenge to help him mentally prepare for the long months of chemo and radiation ahead. He chose the 2007 Leadville Trail 100 MTB, and he challenged his oldest and best friend, Brent Goldstein, to join him. They raced together that year and raised nearly $85,000 for First Descents! Sadly, Allan passed away in 2008, and now Team First Descents lives on in his honor.

The fundraising minimum to join Team FD is $4,000. Team FD athletes will receive the following benefits:

  • FREE race entry
  • Access to our Fundraising Toolkit + other resources as needed
  • Access to the Team First Descents Aid Station at Twin Lakes on race day
  • Team FD Primal cycling kit

Interested? Fill out our inquiry form below, and we’ll be in touch!
