Behind the Mission

By: Jane "TSA" Hillhouse

Meet the newest member of the FDHQ family: Jane “TSA” Hillhouse! TSA joined Team FD in Denver, Colorado, about a month ago as our Marketing and Events Coordinator. Originally from the charming coastal town of Newburyport, Massachusetts, she spent four years in Colorado earning her bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media Communication at Colorado State University in Fort Collins before making the move to the Mile High City this summer.

Get to know TSA a little more in this Q&A:

What is your favorite outdoor activity? Why?

Skiing! I grew up traveling to Colorado to visit family and fell in love with deep powder and sunny days in the southwestern part of the state. I am originally from the “ice coast” — if you’ve skied there, you know it’s not the fluffy champagne powder of the West Coast — so I frequently drove up to Vermont and New Hampshire to ski whatever sheet of ice I could!

Favorite part about your job?

So far, I have enjoyed working on creative projects with FD alumni and the FD Team. I enjoy working behind the scenes taking photos, writing and designing marketing content for a mission I love! I am looking forward to working with the team to put on the FD Ball in the spring, and I am eager to contribute to other events in the near future.

Favorite program memory?

TBD! My first FD program is right around the corner in October.

Fun Fact about yourself:

Brad Pitt’s mom and I share the same name “Jane Hillhouse.”

What’s one thing you can’t live without?

Music. I love my tunes.

Name 3 people you’d have over for dinner (dead or alive)?

Jane Goodall, Rihanna, Barack Obama

Where would your dream vacation be and why?

Currently, my top travel destination is Greece! I have an obsession with Greek food and have recently developed a new passion — making my own hummus. I would love to dive deeper into Greek cuisine and frequently dream about swimming in the Mediterranean.

Stay tuned for next month’s staff highlight feature to learn more about the magical people who make our mission possible!
