COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

FIRST DESCENTS VACCINATION POLICY

In furtherance of First Descents’ (FD) commitment to the health and safety of its program participants, employees, volunteers, visitors, staff, and the community at large during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, FD is requiring all individuals participating in a program to be fully vaccinated. Beginning April 1, 2022, FD is requiring eligible individuals to receive a booster shot as well.

Fully vaccinated: An individual is considered to be fully vaccinated 14 days after they have received the second dose in a two-dose series (e.g., Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) or they have received a single-dose vaccine (e.g., Johnson and Johnson/Janssen).

Booster shot: If an individual received a COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months before the first day of any program they are attending, they are eligible for and must obtain a booster shot.

Only participants may be eligible for a medical exemption from the COVID-19 vaccination requirement. The participant must have their doctor complete FD’s Vaccination Medical Exemption Form and they must provide proof of a negative PCR/NAAT test taken 72 hours or less before the program (see full policy below for more details).

Individuals who do not fulfill the requirements of this policy within their respective timelines, will not be able to attend a program until doing so. See full policy here: COVID-19 Vaccination & Testing Policy: Participants, Volunteers, and Authorized Program Visitors
